Theta Chi International
Theta Chi Fraternity (ΘΧ) is an international college fraternity founded on April 10, 1856 at Norwich University in Norwich, Vermont by Arthur Chase and Frederick Norton Freeman. With the motto "An Assisting Hand" Chase and Freeman set forth a fraternity to "bind by closer bonds the members to each other and the mutual assistance of each of its members. The Fraternity's maxim is "Alma Mater First and Theta Chi for Alma Mater".
Currently with 140 active chapters and 11 colonies across the United States and Canada, Theta Chi has initiated over 178,000 members since its founding. We believe in true friendship; we extend an “Assisting Hand” to one another; we seek to exact harmony and prevent strife among our members, The primacy of Alma Mater; we are loyal students and alumni for life. The promotion of knowledge and the advancement of culture. The virtues of Truth, Temperance,and Tolerance. The usefulness of our Fraternity; we seek the mutual benefit and improvement of all our members and strive to serve our country and our fellow man.
